GLYF Coaches
of the Year
GLYF had over 150 Coaches in attendance at the NFL/NFF Coaches Clinic in Azusa on July 29th. Each Association named their Coach of the Year for the 2005 season at the Coaches Clinic and GLYF named the Conference Coach of the Year. The honored coaches are Don Marable (Highland Red, All American), Art Ramsey (Highland White, Mitey Mite), Curtis Board (Lancaster, Asst. Midget), Richard Cambaliza (Littlerock, Jr Midget), Robbie Countryman (Palmdale, Pee Wee), Lorenzo Walton (Pete Knight, All American), Eric Catalono (Rosamond, Asst. Mitey Mite), and John Remy (West Valley, Mitey Mite). Coach Countryman of Palmdale was named GLYF Coach of the Year. Congratulations, Coaches!
2007 Grad Bowl
2007 Grad Bowl will be played on Saturday, January 27th at 1pm @ Littlerock High School. Scholar Athlete pizza party will be held in January this year. Invitations will be going out soon.
2006 AYF Regionals
The following teams represented GLYF at the AYF Regionals:
Palmdale Jr. Pee Wees
Highland Gold Jr. Pee Wees
Highland Gold Pee Wees
Palmdale Jr. Midgets
Littlerock Midgets
Palmdale Jr. Midgets and Littlerock Midgets both advanced to the second round at Regionals, but then lost in the Regional Championship game. They both came away with AYF Regional 2nd place trophies!
Palmdale Jr. Midgets attended AYF Nationals in Florida, but were unsuccessful in both of their games.
Congratulations to the Lancaster Jets Midget Cheer Squad! They are the AYF National Champions in Division13 small squad!
